What's Happening at All Saints'
COMING UP SOON!
Occasional Concerts eagerly welcomes Rupert Wates on Friday October 10th at 7:00 pm! Known for his signature finger-picking guitar and songwriting featuring "truly gripping lyrics" and eclectic repertoire, this is truly something not to be missed! Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for students and seniors (65 and older). Tickets are available at Eventbrite and will also be available at the door.
Additionally starting at 5:30 pm, All Saints' will host a local vendor and artists show that will be free to the public. This will be an ideal beginning to a thoroughly enjoyable and artistic evening!
Born in London and having studied at Oxford University, Rupert performs an entertaining mix of acoustic, melodic folk, with flavors of jazz, vaudeville, cabaret, and classical - music that a Colorado publication called 'sublime folk hymns.' Within the fine acoustics of the church, Rupert will play two 40-minute sets with a 20-minute intermission with complementary food and drink. Spiral's Rich Johnson provides our lighting.

Caritas Chamber Chorale, directed by Barbara Sanderman and assisted by Wayne Dietterick, will present From a Sincere Heart, an a cappella choral exploration of some of the ways we are drawn to faith and to one another, on Friday, October 24th at 7:30 pm. The concert is free and open to the public. A freewill offering, in its entirety, will benefit the Adorno Fathers’ African Mission in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. Ongoing violence has compounded the needs of the people in this extremely poor area of the world.

Concerts and Music
On Friday, September 12th, Occasional Concerts was delighted to welcome magnificent guitarist and singer-songwriter Tommy Strazza along with his talented guitarist partner, Michael Gonzales. These talented gentlemen performed two fantastic, jam-packed 40-minute sets of music that were enthusiastically enjoyed by all who attended. In between, we had our usual amazing food and drink filled intermission. We commend Chris Harris for presenting these phenomenal performers, as we do Cathy Harris for organizing and providing her outstanding intermission spread, along with Marie Fox and others for contributing their delicious desserts and appetizers to this delightful occasion. Salute to Broadway
This musical revue presented by our All Saints' Choir in March 2025 was a uniquely special collaboration. The 55-60 people in attendance enjoyed hearing selections from shows such as The Lion King, Les Misérables, West Side Story, Wicked, A Chorus Line, Oklahoma!, Phantom of the Opera and many more. We were delighted to see so many dear and familiar faces in the audience along with a number of folks who were brand new to All Saints'. We are especially pleased that all funds raised will fully benefit our church operations. As we hope to present Salute to Broadway II in the coming year or so, please stay tuned for updates!

Congregational Potlucks and Holiday Celebrations
An example of a unique and informative All Saints' potluck event, last summer's highlight was a relevant program led by a congregant expert in the field concerning "The Status of Street Drugs in America". It focused on current trends of illegal drug use and distribution. All who attended were amazed and spellbound by all that was shared and learned!
All Saints' also celebrates a number of colorful, fun-filled holidays and seasonal events such as Homecoming, St. Patty's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas by hosting parties for children, holiday-themed potlucks and picnics, and culminating in our annual fundraising Holiday Gala complete with an elegant catered meal and silent auction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where are you, and where do I park?
A. We're located on Park Avenue in Scotch Plains, right across from Nettingham Middle School. There is street parking in front of the church, and we also have a dedicated parking lot behind the church--simply turn onto Church Avenue from Park Avenue, take your first left onto School Place, and the lot is on your left.
Q. Who's invited to come to All Saints'?
A. All of you! Regardless of who you are, what you do, who you love, your faith (or lack thereof),
your level of knowledge about God and the Church...you are welcome here.
Q. What if I've never been to an Episcopal service before?
A. You won't be alone, and you won't have to guess. Our bulletins give you all the information you need,
and our parishioners are delighted to answer questions and guide you along.
Q. Do I have to take Communion? Am I forbidden to take Communion?
A. We don't check your spiritual I.D. when you come in. All baptized Christians are welcome to come forward
for the Eucharist. If you'd prefer a blessing, come forward with your arms crossed over your chest
and the priest will say a special prayer of blessing for you.
Q. What happens after the service?
A. We have an incredible Coffee Hour! This is your chance to enjoy delicious homemade treats,
a cup of fresh coffee or tea, and enjoy pleasant conversation and fellowship together.
